It has seemed odd to me that some web developers like to give advice on building websites to their customers, and yet they have spent very little time on their own website (if they have one). They may know how to put the general pieces together and make a website look good or functional, but they do not know how to conceive a successful website. Separate Trackbacks and Pings from Comments in WordPress
I had known that the theme I use for this site in WordPress does not separate trackbacks/pings and comments on the post pages. I found this to be annoying because a trackback is not a comment and I want to separate these items. I did some searching and found several examples, but most of them only worked in WordPress 2.7. Lose 30 Pounds in 30 Days
Last week my wife and I started a new diet. It is a combination of a low carb and low fat diet with some wrinkles (I think it is actually considered a slow carb diet). I plan on posting every 1-2 weeks on our progress, but first I need to describe the plan. The goal is that we would lose 20-30 pounds in a 30 day period. On top of that, I do also want to get into better shape in preparation for backpacking and more energy throughout the day. Continue reading

It seems like everyone is interested in the “get rich quick” schemes, or a method for generating thousands of visitors for free in no time.
