Major Changes to Montana Programmer and One Year Anniversary

Over the past few weeks I’ve been busy working on a few things for the site. Below are the changes worth mentioning:

  1. Montana Programmer is now on Facebook and Twitter. My hope with using these social networks is that it will bring more traffic back to the site.
  2. The Links page is now hooked into the link manager system inside of WordPress.  This is also where the “Blogroll” section in the right nav is pulled from as well. If you have a website and are interested in exchanging links, please contact me.
  3. I made quite a few small changes and fixes in how the site looks. This includes updating the logo.
  4. I changed the categories, along with changing and adding text throughout the site. The reasoning behind this is to improve the SEO of the site. My goal here is to see how much traffic I can bring in and also my attempt in making the site more interactive (with comments).

This month marks the 1st year this site has been launched. Before this point I have been posting articles on occasion, but I haven’t promoted the site outside of my personal Facebook page. I’m going to spend a lot of time this month promoting the site across the internet, and possibly add Google Ads to the site.
